Digital foundation and web presence for an engineering advisory practice
The challenge
The firm was running daily operations through a mix of personal inboxes, email chains, and disconnected tools with no shared view of active projects, deadlines, or ownership. Internal coordination relied on memory and individual initiative rather than any structured system. There was no website either, which made it difficult to present the firm professionally or generate new business beyond direct referrals.
What we built
We started with a structured review of how the team actually worked before configuring anything, things like project types, handoff patterns, communication habits. That shaped the Microsoft 365 setup: Teams for day-to-day communication, Planner for task and project tracking, with a methodology the team adopted into daily use. In parallel, we designed, built, and deployed the firm's new website from scratch: concept, copy, visual identity, and infrastructure. We continue to maintain it without any technical burden on the client. The engagement is ongoing and we are currently developing an AI-driven workflow to automate the preparation and structuring of technical expertise reports, a high-volume and time-consuming core part of the firm's service delivery.
The outcome
Project coordination now runs through a shared system, task ownership is visible, deadlines are tracked, and status updates no longer require chasing people over email. Internal handoff friction dropped noticeably and the team's working rhythm became more predictable. The website is live, professionally maintained, and generating enquiries. The AI workflow is in active development and expected to substantially reduce the time spent per expertise report once deployed.
Custom multi-brand e-commerce platform with AI-driven logistics
The challenge
Running multiple furniture brands across different markets creates operational complexity that standard SaaS e-commerce tools are not built to handle. Each brand needed its own pricing, product availability, and localised content, but managing these independently meant duplicated work, inconsistent data, and no single source of truth. Furniture logistics added another layer: large items, multiple carriers, and delivery coordination that generic platforms cannot optimise. As the business grew, third-party SaaS costs scaled with it, and there was no way to centralise control across all brands and operations without building something purpose-built.
What we built
The core of the solution is a custom Ruby on Rails multi-tenant platform, built from scratch as the central engine for all brands and markets. It handles per-shop pricing, product availability, and content localisation from a single codebase with support for bundles, configurable products, and multi-variant items, a sophisticated discount and promotion engine, and payment integrations tailored to the Swiss market. Search is powered by BigQuery, with an advanced caching layer and CDN optimisation for performance at scale. A Magento-based storefront running as a separate sales channel is controlled entirely through the platform: products, pricing, stock levels, and descriptions synchronise automatically, with the platform as the single source of truth. Both platforms are managed through a unified Active Admin back office: one control panel for products, pricing, promotions, logistics, and operational workflows across all brands and shops. Logistics run through an AI-driven engine integrated bi-directionally with the platform to optimise delivery routes, coordinate supplier orders, and handle delivery planning with NPS tracking and delivery feedback loops feeding continuous improvement.
The outcome
Replacing a fragmented set of SaaS tools with a unified custom platform substantially reduced third-party costs and gave the team full control over their data and workflows. Multiple brands and markets now operate from a single back office with consistent processes across all shops. AI-driven logistics have meaningfully reduced per-shipment costs and improved delivery reliability. The centralised architecture improved product discoverability and conversion flows and the business continues to scale, with an expanding automation roadmap for 2026.
